Albufera Energy Services is the subsidiary of Albufera Energy Storage established to develop and implement the SALSA concept in different regions of the world. SALSA (in Spanish initials: Sistema de Automovilidad Limpia con Soporte de Almacenamiento – Clean Mobility System with Storage Support) comprises the design, supply and start-up of mobility strategies based on electric vehicles (EV) for tourism, goods delivery, last mile services, etc. It consists in a battery-based energy storage solution for powering electric vehicles recharging points with renewable energy. Priority isolated from the grid(with possible support from other sources of energy).

Furthermore, the whole system of EV and charging infrastructure is managed according to two different aspects: by controlling mobility data with tracking and information devices (ICT); and by assuring the right energy balance between demand (recharging needs) and offer (renewable generation) using integrated energy storage systems (batteries). This activity was presented in September 2015, and since February 2016, SALSA has been promoted in different countries and regions. A first  pilot for approval will be implemented in Centro de Estudios Che Guevara, La Habana, Cuba, where a network of several EVs, two charging stations and 20 kW photovoltaic panels will be managed by means of an energy storage system of 40 KWh.

SALSA project gathers a group of market leader companies, headed by Albufera, in order to provide diverse components enclosing the central energy storage system.
